Description

Shotley Spa is a spa well-head built around 1838 for Jonathan Richardson. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a circular basin approximately 3 metres in diameter, with three steps leading down all around. At the center, there is a low square spring-head topped with pyramidal coping and an iron hook on one side. The historical context of the site is documented in works by Rev. John Ryan and G. Neasham.
