Description
This is a barn located 30 metres north-east of Morwick Hall, dating from the early 18th century and altered in the later 19th century. It is built from roughly-squared stone with some cut dressings and has a pantile roof. The west elevation features a pair of stable doors positioned right of centre, which are set under a timber lintel. To the right of the doors is a small four-pane casement window, and there are two slatted loft windows directly beneath the eaves. The gable copings are raised and reverse-stepped, and there is a small timber pigeon cote on the ridge. The right side of the barn shows a boarded loft door under a timber lintel, with a gable-headed opening above it. The left side has two metal-framed casements with 19th-century tooled-and-margined lintels.
Inside, the barn features 19th-century metal-strapped king-post roof trusses. The barn is included for its group value with Morwick Hall.
