Description

The Nicholson headstone, located 6 meters west of St. Andrew's Church porch in Hartburn, dates back to 1741. It is made of sandstone and features a scrolled shaped top with a sunk panel that contains a cherub above the inscription dedicated to Joseph Nicholson and his two sons. On the reverse side, there is a sunk panel with flanking pilasters that enclose a death's head on an hourglass above crossbones.
