Description
This listing describes a pair of Gibson headstones located approximately 6 meters southeast of the porch of St. Andrew's Church. The headstones date from 1695 and 1749 and are made of sandstone. The northern headstone features a scrolled gabled top with a sunk panel that contains a large cherub. It includes inscriptions for George Gibson, who died in 1749, among others. On the reverse side, Ionic pilasters flank a panel that displays a death's head on an hourglass, positioned above crossbones.
