HARTBURN HARTBURN NZ 08 NE 9/14 Hanlon and Hepple headstones 12m east of St. Andrew's church. GV II Headstones, C18. Sandstone. Northern has segmental head; cherub above inscription to Joseph Hanlon, d.1771 and others. Reverse shows open book flanked by hourglass (left) and crossbones (right). Southern has scrolled shaped head; sunk panel with cherub flanked by lilies, above inscription to Elizabeth and Robert Heppell (d.1743). Reverse has shaped sunk panel flanked by plain pilasters; death's head on hourglass above crossbones.
