Description
The Hindmarsh and Metcalfe headstones, located east of the porch of St. Andrew's Church, date from the mid-18th century and are made of sandstone. The western headstone features a shaped and shouldered top with a moulded frame, displaying a death's head with crossbones on the left and an hourglass on the right, above the inscription for Luke Hindmarsh, who died in 1741. The eastern headstone has a curved and shouldered top; its east face shows a cherub above the inscription for Ann Metcalfe, who died in 1767, while the west face features a death's head with crossbones to the right, above the inscription for Dorothy Metcalfe, who died in 1754.
