Description

The Nicholson headstone, dated 1747, is located 3 meters west of the porch of St. Andrew's Church in Hart Burn. It is made of sandstone and features a swan-necked pedimented top adorned with a large cherub above the inscription dedicated to Ann, the wife of William Nicholson. On the reverse side, there is a sunk panel flanked by pilasters, which encloses an hourglass above a death's head and crossbones.
