Description
The Hogg headstone, located 10 meters south of St. Andrew's Church porch, dates from 1744 and is made of sandstone. It features a scrolled shaped top that encloses a sunk panel with a cherub, along with an inscription dedicated to Mary, who died in 1744 or 1745, and John Hogg, who died in 1759. On the reverse side, there is an inscription for another John Hogg, who died in 1779. The headstone is a good example of vernacular masonry craftsmanship.
