Description
The Forrester headstone, dated 1744, is located 15 meters southeast of the porch of St. Andrew's Church in Hartburn. This headstone is made of sandstone and features a round-arched top with a raised frame supported by stout flanking pilasters. At the top, there is a cherub above the inscription dedicated to Dorothy and Anthony Forrester, who died in 1747. On the reverse side, a sunk semicircular panel at the top displays a death's head, flanked by a branch with fruit on the left and a snake on the right. Below this panel, there is a bold relief of an hourglass above crossbones.
