23/247 Garden walls to east, north and south of Black Hedley Farmhouse.

GV II

Garden walls, C18 and C19. Stone. Front wall of raised front garden coursed rubble, later extension to right squared stone; gateway with block jambs and 7 steps up. Low chamfered coping, cast iron vase- shaped standards carrying chain. End walls panelled ashlar with rounded coping, sloped up to link with taller rear wall; to left, short link to house has boarded door, to right flat-coped wall continued beyond garden has rebated segmental-arched yard entrance with raised keystone. From front left corner of raised garden, coursed rubble wall with flat coping has stone trough in segmental- arched recess; rubble wall with arched coping returns to link with old stable (q.v.).
