Description
Gingang and barn located approximately 30 yards north of Towermartin Farmhouse is an early 19th-century structure. It features random rubble and pantiles, with an octagonal gingang connected to a two-storey barn. The roof of the gingang is supported by squared blocks of masonry, with one round pillar to the right of the door. The spaces between the pillars have been filled with iron-framed windows and corrugated iron.
Inside, the roof structure includes a massive tie beam, above which is a wheel shape formed by radiating collar beams, with a second radiating collar closer to the apex. The barn has chamfered door and window surrounds and is included mainly for its group value.
