Description
This building is a cottage and attached farm buildings located 5 yards north of the Bridge of Aln Hotel, dating from around 1840. It is constructed of random rubble with dressed stone surrounds and features ashlar stone facing towards the road. The roof is made of Welsh slate and the building is designed in an L-shape.
The structure is two-storeys high, with a single-storey cart shed and tack room on the right side. The short wing on the right includes a cartshed with boarded double doors and a tack room with a boarded door and a 12-pane Yorkshire sash window.
To the left, there is a three-bay cottage featuring a boarded door and five-pane sash windows, topped with a gabled roof and a square corniced ridge stack. The long projecting wing on the left houses four stables, each with boarded doors and half-shuttered windows, as well as shuttered windows for the granary, all beneath a hipped roof.
