Description

The Castle Inn is a public house, dating from approximately 1830. It is constructed of ashlar stone with a Welsh slate roof, and features renewed brick chimneys. The building is three storeys high and comprises two bays. An early 20th-century castellated stone porch is located on the right-hand side and contains a six-panel inner door and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The windows are 12-pane sashes set within raised surrounds. The roof is gabled with flat coping. Inside, there are six-panel doors and a staircase with stick balusters and turned newels. The inn was originally a much larger coaching inn, incorporating the adjacent Castle Farm. Two ground-floor windows on the left-hand side of Castle Farm are now part of The Castle Inn's property.
