Description
The churchyard wall and gateways located south of the Church of St. Bartholomew date from the 18th century and 1860, with later work by mason George Ferguson. The wall is constructed of squared stone and ashlar, standing approximately 5 feet high and featuring ridged coping.
At the west end, there is a stone stile with five worn stone steps, alongside a gateway from 1860 that includes square corniced piers topped with pyramidal caps. At the east end, in the corner, the head and base of a medieval cross have been reset into the 18th-century wall. This gateway also has five steps and four piers, two of which have pyramidal caps and two with domed caps. To the left of the gateway, there is another small stone stile.
