Description

This village pant or well was built in 1865 for Baron Ravensworth. It is constructed from ashlar and features a square, corniced rusticated column topped with a dome. The dome has recently lost its ball finial, which occurred in 1985. On the east side of the structure, there is an inscription that reads: "May this purefount perpetual streams supply To every thirsty soul that passes by, And may its crystal waters ever run Unchanged by winter's frost or summers sun." At the time of the survey, the well was not in working condition.
