Description

The bridge over the River Aln, located on the road from Whittingham to Glanton, dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features four segmental arches and has a band at the base of the plain parapet, which is topped with rounded coping. At each end, short sections of concave walling widen the bridge and end in oblong piers that have domed caps.
