Description
The bridge over Aldbrough Beck is a structure likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and rubble. The bridge features a single segmental arch made of ashlar voussoirs with herringbone tooling, and the spandrels are made from rubble. There is an ashlar band, and the parapet consists of ashlar balusters that are rectangular in shape, except for the central baluster, which is square. This central baluster supports a flat ashlar coping and has square ashlar terminals, with the northern terminal displaying a benchmark on its inside face. The design of this bridge is similar to that of the bridge at Hartforth.
