Description
The gate piers and quadrant walls, formerly part of the rear entrance to Stanwick Hall, date from the early to mid-19th century and were built for Lord Prudhoe. The structures are made of ashlar and render, with the walls standing approximately 3 metres high. They are rendered with ashlar bases and coping. Short walls connect pairs of the four gate piers. Each quadrant wall features ashlar pilaster interval buttresses and returns at right angles. The gate piers are square in plan, constructed of ashlar, and include bases, cornice capitals, and blocking above. The two outer piers have a projecting flange with a scrolled top.
