Description
Mossyard is likely an early 19th-century building consisting of a long single-storey row that includes a three-bay cottage and a small former farm steading. The cottage is located at the west end and features a full-height byre that is attached, both under a continuous gabled roof. At the east end, there is a lower stable with a lean-to structure beyond. The entire building is constructed from rubble, with the cottage having ashlar margins and being whitewashed, complemented by contrasting painted margins.
The cottage has a central boarded door with a narrow fanlight, flanked by windows that contain 6-pane glazing. It has a dormerless attic with a skylight and a gable-head light, along with end stacks. The byre features a central boarded and glazed door that is accessed by later steps, with small flanking vents. The stable has a door on the left side, a small window, and a triangular vent. The gable-head of the stable, as well as the roof and the roof of the lean-to, are all covered in corrugated iron, while the main roof is finished with small uniform slates. In front of the building, there is a cobbled pavement.
