Description
Moor House Farmhouse is a house from the early 18th century, likely incorporating some earlier elements. An outshut was added and the rear wing was raised in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of large squared stone with a rendered left side and features a Welsh slate roof. The stacks were rebuilt in grey brick in 1938.
The farmhouse has two storeys and three bays, with a plinth at the base. The central entrance consists of a flush-panelled door with a five-pane overlight, set within a 20th-century half-glazed porch. The ground floor has sash windows that have lost their intermediate glazing bars, situated in original openings with keyed supra-lintels. Above, there are four-pane sashes in openings that were enlarged in the 19th century. The gable copings are raised with reverse steps, and there are end stacks. The right side of the building shows two blocked stone-surround attic windows and an eight-pane Yorkshire sash window in the outshut, with a similar sash in the rear wing.
Inside, there is a closed-string dogleg stair featuring stick balusters, square newels, and a moulded handrail.
