Description

Wingate Moor Farmhouse and attached farm buildings are located in Nunnykirk and date from the early 18th century, possibly marked with the year 1727 on a worn lintel. The buildings are constructed from dressed stone and feature roofs made of Welsh slate and stone slate, forming an L-plan layout.

The farmhouse itself is two storeys high and has three bays. It includes a panelled door and sash windows set in slightly chamfered surrounds. The roof is steeply pitched with reverse-stepped coping and corniced end stacks. To the left, there is a single-storey, one-bay coal house. The right side of the farmhouse features a recessed two-storey, one-bay section that is the front of the rear range.

At the rear, the shelter sheds and granary rise to two storeys and consist of five bays. There are two elliptical arches on the left and two on the right of the central stone stairs leading to the granary. On the first floor, there is a boarded door to the granary flanked by slatted windows. The roof of this structure is also steeply pitched with reverse-stepped gables.
