Description

This milestone, located 110 metres north of the entrance to Eddisbridge Farm, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of cut and tooled sandstone with a cast iron component. The milestone features an arched pillar that stands 0.60 metres high, with an inset plate that has quadrant-cut corners and a raised inscription that reads "S (Stanhope) 9".
