Description
This milestone, dating from the 1820s, is made of sandstone and cast iron. It stands about 240 millimeters high and features dressed stone that is somewhat eroded. The top of the milestone has a cambered head, and there is an attached plaque with a semi-circular headed central section. The plaque is inscribed in incised lettering that reads "16 miles to Minehead."
