Description
The garden walls, farmbuilding, and smithy located to the north and east of Ulnaby Hall are likely from the 17th century for the walls and from the mid-19th century for the farm buildings. The walls are made of coursed rubble and enclose three sides of a paddock, with the farmbuilding forming the southern side. The smithy is positioned at a right angle to the west end of the farmbuilding. There is a short, partly rebuilt L-plan section with rubble coping situated 10 meters north of the house. A tall wall with triangular coping stones extends east for 35 meters and then south for another 35 meters, connecting to a single-storey farmbuilding that encloses the southern side of the paddock. The farmbuilding features altered openings and a hipped roof at the east end. The smithy includes a boarded door, a partly-glazed hit-and-miss window, and end stacks. The farm buildings on the south side of the smithy and the single-storey range have been altered and are not considered of special interest. This structure is included for its group value.
