Description
The garden walls located to the west of the Manor House in Ulgham are designated as a Grade II listed structure. These walls are situated on the north and south sides of the garden. The north wall, which dates from around 1800, is constructed of coursed rubble with a flat coping, and the western section is faced internally with brick. At the time of the survey, the central doorway had fallen. The south wall is likely from the later 17th century and is made of squared stone with remnants of brick heightening. At the south-east corner, the walls connect to a surviving section of an earlier circular structure, which may have been a dovecote. This wall is made of large rubble and is 1.0 metre thick, featuring one small slit window. The wall extends north for an additional 3 metres.
