Description
This building, located at 21 Front Street in Bishop Auckland, is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The exterior features pebble-dashed render and painted shallow plinth ashlar dressings. The roof is pantiled and has a brick chimney. The house is two storeys tall and has two windows. The door and windows have been renewed; there is an 8-panel door on the left with plain reveals and a late 20th-century pent corrugated plastic hood above it. On the right, there is a bow window with 20th-century renewed canted glazing, which is set beneath a deep painted cornice. The first floor has two top-hung casements in painted architraves. The steeply pitched roof has narrow rendered gables that project above the tiles, and there is a corniced chimney at the right end. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
