Description

Old Fleece House is an early 18th-century house that later became part of a public house, and is now a house again. It was altered in the late 18th century. The house is painted render with painted ashlar dressings. The roof is tiled with stone slate eaves and has a brick chimney. It is two storeys high with three windows. At the left, there are paired doors in plain painted surrounds, the right door being an insertion. A half-glazed door on the left is part of the adjacent property at No.20, while No.20B has a five-panel door. A full-height canted bay window on the right has an original low ground floor window with sliding sashes, and a larger upper window with four-pane sashes on the sides and a six-pane at the front. Above the front door is a four-pane sash window with a projecting stone sill. A wheel stair window on the first floor has radiating glazing bars and painted plain stone surround. The brick chimney has tapered square yellow pots.
