Description

No. 31 Front Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of thin coursed rubble with upper left quoins and features painted ashlar dressings. The roof is pantiled with stone gabled coping and brick chimneys. The building has three storeys and two windows. There is a six-panel door on the right, framed by pilasters and an entablature, with a plain overlight above. All windows have painted architraves and moulded sills. The ground and first floors have renewed four-pane sash windows, while the second floor features smaller renewed fixed lights with top-hung casements, all positioned to the left of the door. The roof has swept eaves, a brick chimney, and stone gable coping on the left supported by a moulded kneeler, with a shared brick chimney at the right end with No. 32.
