Description

No. 56 Claypath is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features incised stucco with a painted ashlar plinth and ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and a brick chimney. The building stands three storeys high and has two bays. On the left side, there is a four-panelled door with an overlight, set in a plain wood surround with a hood. The sashes above the door have glazing bars, while those in the right bay have late 19th-century glazing, all supported by projecting stone sills. The low-pitched roof includes a chimney at one end.
