Description
Nos. 100 and 102 Galgate are a pair of cottages that have been converted into a shop and a house. They were built in the early 19th century, with a shop added in the late 19th century. The exterior features thin courses of squared stone and a roof made of thin stone slates, which has stone gable coping and a stone chimney. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range.
The shop front on the left includes a partly-glazed door that is recessed, along with a window that has slender wooden mullions, all beneath a fascia with a folding canopy supported by hinged iron stays. To the right, there is a 20th-century door to No. 102, which is set under a rough stone lintel. The windows to the left of the door and on the first floor have similar lintels and flush stone sills, featuring plain sash windows. The roof has left gable coping and a central chimney with a transverse ridge. The interior has not been inspected. This listing is included for its group value.
