Description

This milestone, located 650 metres west of Ivy Hall, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and painted white. The stone stands 0.75 metres tall and has a rectangular shape with rounded top edges. The north face features inscribed sans-serif letters painted black, indicating the distance to Bowes (1 mile) and Brough (12 miles).
