Description

This milestone, located approximately 200 metres south-east of Keverstone Grange Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of painted sandstone ashlar and has a square section, standing about one-third of a metre high with a rounded top. The west face features the painted inscription 'D17', indicating the distance to Durham, while the east face displays 'B12', marking the distance to Bowes.
