Milestone. Late C18. Painted ashlar. Square-section block, c.0.5 metre high, with domed pyramidal top, set diagonally to road. DURHAM 16 on west and BOWES 13 on east faces towards road, and Durham 16 Miles and Bowes 13 Miles in larger irregular letters on rear faces, all incised and painted.
