Description

The gatepiers at the entrance to Hilton Hall date from the early 18th century and are made of limewashed sandstone ashlar. They consist of two tall square piers featuring chamfered rustication and chamfered plinths. Each pier has a wide cornice and a pyramid finial with swept feet on moulded bases. The front and rear of the piers are adorned with corniced rusticated pilasters, while the sides have plain jamb pilasters.
