Description
Pretoria House is a building that was originally two houses but is now one. It likely dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The exterior is rendered and features a 20th-century pantiled roof with brick chimneys. The house has two storeys and six bays. There is a filleted boarded door with a small glazed light located in the second bay. The windows are almost square sashes of late 19th-century style, with slightly projecting stone sills, some of which are very wide. Larger sashes are positioned on either side of the door. The steeply-pitched roof has three ridge chimneys, located at the ends and between the third and fourth bays. At the rear, there is a one-storey six-bay outshut beneath a catslide roof. It has been reported that there are upper crucks in the right two bays, although the roof is currently inaccessible.
