Description
Brook House is a house that may have originally been two or three separate dwellings. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries, and has 20th-century windows. The exterior is rendered with pantile roofs and rubble stacks. The main block is two stories high with three windows, some of which have hood moulds, and features a single-storey lean-to extension. There is also a gabled wing that is two and a half stories tall with one window, which has blocked windows under hood moulds.
Inside, there are scroll stop-chamfered beams, two inglenooks, and a stone winder staircase. The front door is studded and set in an ogee moulded frame beneath a decorated lintel, while the rear door frame is ovolo moulded. Several similar door frames can be found on the first floor.
