Description
The Grange is a house dating from the 17th century, substantially refaced in the mid to late 18th century and with new sash windows inserted. It has a roughcast exterior and roofs covered in double Roman tiles and pantiles. The building is arranged in an L shape. It is three storeys high with two windows at the first and ground floor levels. These windows are paired, margin-glazed sashes, with similar casements above. A central entrance has a half-glazed door set beneath a large segmental hood. The roof features a moulded parapet and coped verges that sweep upwards to end stacks. To the north return, the windows have mixed glazing, along with a later porch and a small eaves dormer gable. A stair turret is located in the re-entrant angle at the rear of the building. The interior retains features such as stopped and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a solid oak tread winder stair connecting the basement to the second floor.
