Description
Faber's Farmhouse is a farmhouse with late medieval origins and 17th-century extensions, dated 1698. It is constructed of rubble and has double Roman tile roofs. Originally an open hall, it has been raised and extended, now forming an L-shape with a porch in the re-entrant angle. The building has 2½, 2, and 1½ storeys, with each gabled elevation featuring one or two windows. The earlier south block has ovolo moulded mullioned windows under drips, although the upper floors have been renewed. The north block and porch have transmullioned windows with moulded lintels, and similar windows can be found at the return and rear. The two-storey gabled porch includes a moulded door frame and a small bullseye window with a hood mould. Inside, there are ogee moulded and chamfered beams and door frames, a winder stair, a dog-leg stair with turned balusters, and raised crucks over the former hall.
