Description
This is a cottage, probably built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from limewashed rubble and has a pantiled roof. The cottage is one storey high and features two windows. There is a central boarded door flanked by two-light horizontal sliding sash windows, all set beneath thin stone lintels. Notably, there is no chimney.
Inside, the kitchen has a plain stone surround for the range located against the left gable. To the left of the range, there is a brick and stone water-pot holder, while the central fire has front bars. On the right side, there is a small square cast iron oven that features the crest of Lord Barnard in low relief. The area above the fire and oven is finished with stone and brick, and there is a stone lintel over the water pot.
This cottage is included for its group value.
