Description

The stable block located north-east of the stables and coach-house at Raby Park is a Grade II listed building, likely constructed in the third quarter of the 18th century. It features colour-washed render with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of 13 bays. There are plain stone surrounds to five boarded doors located in the second, third, fourth, seventh, and tenth bays, as well as similar surrounds for boarded ground floor openings and 13 square loft openings that have hit-and-miss slats. The roof is hipped, and there are side steps on the returns leading to first-floor doors, with the steps on the left return consisting of two flights and a plain wrought-iron balustrade. A Dutch barn is attached to the centre rear of the building.
