Description
This is a Dutch barn located approximately 300 metres north of the stables and coach house at Raby Park, dating from the third quarter of the 18th century. The barn is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a graduated slate roof. It has one high storey and consists of ten bays. The exterior includes a recessed round-headed open arcade supported by square piers with impost bands, and there are two arches on the returns, also on similar piers. The roof is hipped.
Inside, the barn has three central brick piers arranged with alternating headers and spaces, and there is a narrow round arch at the foot of each side, which provides ventilation at the heart of the stack.
