STANHOPE FRONT STREET NZ 0236 (North side) Frosterley 40/195 House Cottage and arch adjoining GV II

House and carriage arch. Early C19. Coursed squared sandstone with quoins and ashlar dressings; roof of stone slates. 2 storeys, 2 windows and arch on left. Central 6-panel door in plain surround; flat stone lintels and projecting painted sills to late C19 sash at right on ground floor and to other 16-pane sashes. Low-pitched roof has end chimneys. Tall arch adjoining on left has voussoirs and flat stone coping.

Interior: cast-iron barred grate in first-floor room.
