Description

Frosterley House is a house dating to circa 1840. It is built of squared sandstone in irregular courses with ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The house is two storeys high and three bays wide. The central entrance features a 6-panel door within a painted doorcase and an elliptical fanlight with patterned glazing bars. The doorcase is supported by pilasters and has an entablature with concave ends to the frieze. All windows are 16-pane sashes with projecting stone lintels and sills. The hipped roof is punctuated by two ashlar ridge chimneys. A plain, one-storey, one-bay rear wing is set back, with a window having a stone lintel above it.
