Description

Nos 64, 66, and 70 on Main Street in Stanbury are a house and cottage that have been converted into three dwellings. They date from the early 19th century and consist of two separate builds. The house, which includes numbers 64 and 66, is constructed of ashlar stone with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring three first-floor windows. The central entrance has a glazed door set in a corniced architrave, with a single-light window above it. On both floors, there are three-light flat-faced mullion windows with raised cills on either side. The building has shaped gutter brackets, a shaped kneeler, and ashlar coping on the right side, along with corniced stacks at the ends. Inside, there is a blocked Venetian window in the left gable of the attic.

The cottage added to the left, number 70, is built of coursed millstone grit and also has a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with two first-floor windows. There is a blocked central door and a 20th-century wooden door to the left, both with plain stone surrounds. To the left of the entrance is a narrow window, and to the right, there is a three-light flat-faced mullion window. Above, there is a blocked door that has been converted into a single-light window on the right and a three-light window on the left. This section also features shaped gutter brackets, a shaped kneeler, ashlar coping, and a corniced stack on the left end. The left return of the cottage has a Venetian window in the gable.
