Description
A group of three cottages located on Main Street, Stanbury, dating from the mid-to-late 18th century. They are constructed of coursed millstone grit with a stone slate roof. Each cottage is two storeys high and one bay wide. Quoins are present. The cottages have three-panel doors set within simple stone surrounds. The doors to numbers 20 and 22 are paired, sharing a central jamb, while the door to number 24 is on the left-hand side. The ground floor windows are flat-faced mullioned, with two lights each, with the window at number 20 being enlarged. The first-floor windows are mullioned with three lights, featuring a narrower central light – each with a single four-pane sash. A shaped kneeler and ashlar coping are visible on the right-hand gable. Corniced stacks are located at the right end of each cottage.
