Description

The churchyard walls and hearse house, located to the north of the Church of St. Thomas, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly-coursed sandstone rubble and feature a stone-flagged roof. The eastern wall is approximately 2 meters high and has gabled coping, running along the north side of the churchyard and connecting to the north wall of the hearse house. The hearse house itself is a single-storey building that is mostly blank, except for boarded carriage doors set in a round-arched opening on the west face. The set-back western wall rises to about 3 meters high with flat coping, linking to the southwest corner of the hearse house and continuing along the north side of the churchyard.
