Description
The structure is a garden wall with an attached gazebo, located on the north-east side of Castle Garden. The wall dates from the early 19th century, while the gazebo was added later in the 19th century. It is made of thinly rendered rubble with a flat stone coping. The gazebo features rubble with rock-faced dressings, and its north face has incised stucco rendering. The high wall includes a segmental-headed carriage arch at the west end, which has voussoirs and alternate-block jambs that hold boarded double doors. To the right of the arch, there is a flat stone lintel above another boarded door. The gazebo, positioned near the center of the wall, is two stories tall and has one bay in a Gothic style, with alternate-block jambs and a flat stone lintel above the central boarded door. It also features a battlemented parapet, while the south elevation facing the garden includes a pierced stone first-floor balcony.
