Description

The hearse house located in the churchyard northeast of the Church of St Mary dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from calciferous sandstone rubble and features large quoins, topped with a graduated slate roof. The building is single storey and consists of a single bay. The plank doors are set beneath a large stone lintel in the gable end. On the left side, there is a window with a round head, complete with impost blocks and a keystone. A lean-to on the right side is not included in the listing. This structure is noted for its group value with the nearby church.
