Description

The hearse house, located in St Lawrence's churchyard to the northeast of the chancel, was built around the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared rubble with dressed quoins and surrounds. The roof is made of graduated slate and features moulded copings. The building is single storey and has two bays. The roadside elevation includes two double doors with wrought-iron strap hinges, set in chamfered surrounds with a timber lintel. There is a narrow central wagon door at the rear, facing the churchyard, along with a small door to one side. All doors are made of planks. This structure is included for its group value.
