Description
The cross stump in St Lawrence's churchyard is located approximately 8 yards south of the south transept. This medieval structure, possibly dating from the late medieval period, is made of stone and stands about 10 feet tall overall. It features a large rectangular base block with a rectangular socket that holds the tapered cross shaft. The shaft has chamfered corners adorned with widely spaced, individual dog-tooth decoration. The remains of the shaft are composed of three fragments that are fastened together.
